HCD International Commemorates 32 Years
Transformational Health Equity Excellence
By HCDI Communications
In 2022, HCDI’s multi-cultural team of over 150 full-time, talented professionals from 20 different countries, led by President, Founder, and CEO Jean Drummond, improved the lives of over 1 million people nationwide and saved nearly 185 million in hospitalization costs. April 19, 2023 marks 32 years of HCDI’s unwavering devotion to improving the quality of health of all, especially those most vulnerable.
Impacting the lives of our nation’s most vulnerable requires a tremendous amount of hard work and a great deal of compassion for others. Advancing health equity is complex because there is no “one size fits all” solution, no blanket strategy that addresses social determinants of health.
Whether applying artificial intelligence, integrating the next complex payment model or forging a new best practice to close HEDIS quality and social needs gaps, the engagement team at HCDI has the data collection tools and cultural competence to develop customized, personal solutions to meet an organization’s health equity goals.
Drummond explains, “You must talk to the people you serve to discover what they truly need. Data strategy provides the foundation for reaching vulnerable communities. Human-centered design is how you truly engage with people and meet them where they are.”
You cannot achieve health equity without engagement. Meaningful health equity strategy means that while we recognize the power of statistics, we never forget that we are here to serve real people. – Jean Drummond, President, Founder, and CEO.
In recognition of the 32nd anniversary, staff members are giving back by distributing internally prepared care packages to local homeless shelters in and around HCDI’s corporate headquarters within Prince George’s County, Maryland. HCDI is also releasing its new health equity blog, “The Dove Report: Health Equity in Action.” The blog will feature ongoing public health interest articles, like this one, written by leadership and staff, developed to educate and facilitate efforts in achieving health equity for all.
“I am indeed grateful for the divine purpose and calling to serve others and commend my staff, clients, partners, family and friends for their support over the years. I am excited every day to uncover what the future holds for HCDI and those we serve,” Drummond adds.
