Since we last connected at the Public Health Perspectives: Empowering Local Communities Globally virtual symposium, HCDI has not slowed down its outreach around the world. In November, I traveled with a delegation of Maryland’s state and local government leaders and business executives. I had the opportunity to make a health equity presentation to the Royal Bafokeng Nation in South Africa.  The audience received important information gleaned from HCDI’s 31 years improving the lives of the most vulnerable as well as wisdom gathered recently from our presenters at the Empowering Local Communities Globally virtual symposium.

With each endeavor to make an impact on global health equity, it remains clear that we need a robust global public health enterprise. I encourage you to continue doing the hard, but heart work of serving those most vulnerable. The task is monumental, but we remain committed.

The calendar year of 2023 will be no less exciting! We will offer public health practitioners the opportunity to present a case to be reviewed by some of the world’s leading global health thinkers. This will be a unique chance to strengthen population outcomes by providing access to experts from across the world. HCDI is working diligently with all our partners to strengthening the public health enterprise.
