Mother’s Day Captures New Meaning at HCDI in Saving Lives and Reducing Health Care Costs for our Community!

May 6th, 2022 – As Mother’s Day approaches, acknowledging the impact of female-owned and run businesses takes on greater importance. One such businesswoman and mother, Jean Drummond, is the President and Founder of HealthCare Dynamics International (HCDI), a local Prince Georges County Quality Improvement firm. For HCDI, April marks 31 years of promoting quality care for the most vulnerable and reducing healthcare costs by $93,368,310 in 2021 alone.

HCDI, a local Prince George’s County business, celebrates 31 years of service to the community, including support of COVID-19 related health efforts during the global pandemic. The pandemic was tough on businesses. A 2021 report by the National Small Business Association states, “…1 in 5 small business owners are not confident that they will fully recover from the pandemic.” While the pandemic has created hardship for many businesses, HCDI met the challenge, recognizing it as a time to serve the community at large and promote health equity.

“Our business is reflective of our ability to quickly pivot to assess market trends and re-align staff and resources to best support business needs and opportunities within our national, state, and local communities.” – President and CEO, Jean Drummond

HCDI and COVID-19: The Numbers

Emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic stronger than ever, HCDI’s team of diverse professionals worked with health partners and promoted culturally competent and compassionate care to support the community. To date, HCDI worked with health partners to deliver nearly 60,000 vaccinations, 250,000 contact tracing-related contacts, and 15,000 COVID-19 tests. Additionally, HCDI, with its non-profit, the Institute for Creative Community Initiatives (ICCI), organized food drives, holiday turkeys, and non-perishable donation to local and international communities during this time of need. In total, through 2021, HCDI’s efforts saved $93,368,310 in health care costs through reductions in hospital admissions and readmissions.

COVID-19 is a driving force for Drummond, a staunch advocate for health equity. Drummond recognizes the disproportionate impact on racial and ethnic minorities unveiled throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, which further accelerates Drummond’s commitment to drive health equity for all, especially our most vulnerable. “COVID-19 is a time of action. We know Maryland communities need support. We know the work means saving lives. We are honored to continue to support our incredible health partners!” –Drummond
